KNB goes kayaking

Kuala Lumpur, 23rd July, 2010 – Kontena Nasional Berhad (KNB) joined hands with Jerlun Parliamentary Service Centre in the Akar Jerlun Adventure Kayak Race, a community initiative to foster closer ties between the people of Jerlun.

 Being the pioneer haulage company in Malaysia, KNB supports efforts that promote unity as the company believes it is the core element in One Malaysia that defines the ability of multiracial Malaysians to live in peace and harmony. 

KNB via its Johor Bahru and Kuantan branches transported kayaks for this inaugural event from Danga Bay, Skudai  in Johor Baru and Kuala Ibai, Terengganu and Sungai Petani, Kedah to Gua Kerbau, Kodiang where the race was flagged off. 

The three day event showcased 60 teams from all around the country and 180 kayaks. Participants had to negotiate the rivers and waterways of Jerlun covering a distance of 53km to win a Grand Prize of RM10,000.
